Why you need a status page

When your service goes down, customers notice. Without a status page, their first contact is a support ticket: "Is the service down for everyone or just me?" With a status page, they can check themselves — and trust that you're aware and working on it.

Research consistently shows that transparent communication during incidents reduces churn by 30–40%. Customers are forgiving of outages. They're not forgiving of silence.

What Sentro's status pages include

  • Real-time status banner — "All Systems Operational", "Partial Outage", or "Major Outage" based on live monitor data
  • Per-service uptime bars — 90-day history, color-coded by day, for each monitor on the page
  • Active incidents — Open incidents shown at the top with their timeline updates
  • Maintenance windows — Upcoming planned downtime displayed so customers know it's expected
  • Email subscriptions — Customers can subscribe to receive incident notifications by email (Starter+)

Creating a status page

  1. Go to Status Pages in the Sentro dashboard
  2. Click New Status Page
  3. Choose a name and a URL slug (e.g. my-service)
  4. Select which monitors to display
  5. Configure display options (show response time, show uptime percentages)
  6. Click Publish

Your status page is immediately live at app.sentro.dev/status/your-slug. Share this URL in your app's footer, your docs, and your support email signature.

Custom domain setup (Max plan)

On the Max plan, you can serve your status page from status.yourcompany.com. The setup takes 2 minutes:

  1. In the status page settings, enter your custom domain
  2. Add a CNAME record in your DNS provider pointing status.yourcompany.com to cname.sentro.dev
  3. Wait for DNS propagation (usually under 10 minutes)

Sentro handles SSL certificate provisioning automatically via Let's Encrypt. No configuration required.

White-labeling (Max plan)

By default, status pages show a small "Powered by Sentro" badge in the footer. On the Max plan, you can remove this entirely for a fully white-labeled experience that matches your brand. Toggle it off in Status Pages → Edit → Show Powered by Sentro.

Email subscribers

Visitors can subscribe to receive email notifications when your service status changes. The subscription is double opt-in: they enter their email, confirm via a verification link, and then receive emails when incidents open or resolve.

Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Subscriber management is automatic — you don't need to do anything.
